How to know which apps have access to your Facebook data

With the recent Cambridge Analytica data scandal, it’s more than ever important now to know which apps have access to your Facebook data. The firm was able to access data from over 50 million Facebook users through the use of third part personality quiz apps.

More than often nowadays, there’s the option to ” sign in using Facebook” which, yes, makes it more convenient for the end user, however, you’re freely giving away this information. If you’ve done it more than once and have forgotten which app you used this feature on, here’s a guide on how to know which apps are using your Facebook data.

Here’s how to see what apps have your data and how remove them.

  • On desktop or in the mobile app, tap the drop-down menu on the top-right side of Facebook and select “Settings.”
  • Select the “Apps” option. This is on the left side of the page on desktop. On mobile, simply scroll down the settings page.

You can now see which apps have access to your Facebook data.

To delete an app, just select it and tap the “X” button in the right corner, then select remove. Unfortunately, any data that you’ve previously shared will still be obtained by the app, but it won’t get any new data on you.
